Broome, Darwin and Friends...

Écrit le dimanche 2 août 2009 by Unknown

Arriving in Broome under a blazing sun, towards the tourist office to get information on activities, beaches! On leaving, we discuss two Italians (Roberto Madalena), two backpackers who make the tour of Australia.

The current passes directly, we moved together (Julian, Remi, Fedi, Roberto, mada and me) in an area along the road to eat and sleep. The days go by and shared between the beach, dams, swimming ... and recovery of taxes!

Very soon, we're joined by our troupe Karijinii (Ludo, coconut, nouns, emi), who moved with us ... I had to stay a day or two, time to find a carpool to Darwin, but finally in the mood I delayed my departure ... I improvised later.

Cable Beach, the benchmark for backpackers ...
This is the main beach in Broome ... there remains for our evenings. We also found Jim and Zoe, co car between Adelaide and Perth who end up staying with us. Finally, Phillipe (German), a friend who had met with Remi in Adelaide and they had seen on Perth decided to join us.

In short, I know that all this must seem very complicated, it has simply found a convoy of 4 vans, one 4x4 and 2 tents for our activities in Broome.

During his stay in the sea, we went to the tip Quodong, 40 km north of Broome for two days of beaches and fisheries as well as activities seams and bracelets .. A small quiet and "cushy", provided it hard!

On Monday morning rendezvous point Gantheaume to see the dinosaur tracks discovered by the great tide ... we all remained a bit skeptical about these tracks. a little strange ... perhaps because he had to get up really early to see them!

The job is easier to find than expected, all our friends are from work in the week in various trades. They are able to extend their stay in the sun and the sweetness of life in Broome.

To me, he'll have to consider moving to Darwin for the departure for New Zealand is fast approaching ... but before leaving, we went to see "Ice Age 3" in the oldest open air cinema in the world (or Australia, here they love the records), with aircraft departing the airport just above. And shortly after, back to Cable Beach for a beautiful moon lying in the ocean!

Remi also decides to proceed, after leaving an ad for a carpool to Darwin. A Californian who has lived for 4 years in Australia we propose to share his car ... We accept. IIl will go very quickly so we take the passage on Broome ... we said goodbye to friends.
Bret finally arrives and prefers to leave the next 6 hours of the morning the road a little bursts (Crossed a distance as in England the day is actually a bit tiring). To get an idea of distances traveled, here with a map of Europe compared to Australia.

We spend one last evening together. On Wednesday morning, Fedi, Julien get up to say goodbye ... the start was a bit hard!

The road with Bret has done very quickly. 1800Km in 1 ½ days, Collision with three kangaroos, 2 half-turns to the American Highway (Australia) to observe a snake (death). Australian A highway does not look like our highways, here they are sometimes ground and are 2x1voie. We finished the drive with a relaxing bath all near Darwin. In water over 35 ° C in the midst of lush vegetation in the natural habitat of crocodiles.

Arrived in Darwin, we moved into a camping tent with Bret (the hostels are full and very expensive), there is knowledge of Fabien and Cecile in Tasmania (and Cindy Anthony). As expected, I found Anne in the market for waterfront (Mindil Market), we witness the sun rise as much space (here is a real spectacle for which people move).Yesterday evening, we redid the market with Cindy Anthony, Anne and pals "hippy".

Rémi bought his memories (dijiridoo, boomerang painting and ticket) ... we returned to camp for one last night ...Tomorrow Remi takes the road with a German. For my part, I trace the route to New Zealand to meet my boss, Lawrence, who is taking charge in the southern hemisphere.

I arrived in New Zealand it is 15 ° C, the weather is like in Britain ... but it seems to be ausssi beautiful than Britain ... Now then, enjoy!
